continental drift is geographically the movement of earth's continents that eventually caused indian subcontinent to collide with asia and form the youngest mountains on this planet, the himalyas. growing up at the end of those foothills, in delhi, and eventually drifting away like the original tectonic plates, kansi landed in germany and after almost a decade the shift began again and landed her in her new mountainous foothills. somehow home was meant to be next to hills, in bern and to be on that journey, means selecting what to take with you and never forgetting the subcontinent.
just like the physical drift, the music changes with space and time, sometimes colliding, sometimes merging, often transporting. previously this show was called sutr (सूत्र) which is a sanskrit word meaning “thread,” the idea was to evoke connection, continuity, and weave stories together. however the energy shifted, with subcontinental drift, the focus is on textures, movements, and giving space to collision.
